Trans Associates provides comprehensive transportation engineering services to public & private sector clients. Transportation studies, roadway design, transportation planning, and traffic engineering services are the focus of the practice. The civil engineering firm specializes in designing improvements for intersections, roadways, and parking & loading areas.
In 2016, the company approached me to refresh their corporate identity system
from top to bottom. It is still in use today.
Rebranding Process

Initial Logo Studies
1.
Concept using elements from the world of traffic, direction and space. NASA-like typeface was considered, but rejected.
2.
Concept using a simple forward arrow evoking progress and movement. Typeface is Johnston Underground, a nod to the oldest public transport system in the world, London Transport.
3.
Concept using only type, DINschrift, which is used widely throughout Europe on roadway signs.
4.
Concept using italic type to suggest motion and roadway striping to connote traffic engineering.
